In most cases, if a text is sent to a list of 100 people, it will use 100 credits. If the message is longer than 160 characters or includes emojis or a picture, it may use more credits. You will see a character count and credit count when you're creating each message.
Monthly credits do not rollover. Monthly credits expire and replenish to your plan’s allotment at each billing date. We do offer rollover credits which can be purchased separate from your plan.
If you run out of credits, people can still join one of your lists, and receive an auto-response message. You will not be billed for message overages. If you try to send a text and don’t have enough credits, you’ll see a prompt to purchase more credits or upgrade to a larger plan.
We also offer auto-refill credits. If your balance drops below a certain threshold, credits can be purchased automatically. More info.
Subaccounts are separate accounts under your main account. They are great for ministries or campuses that do enough texting on their own to justify the needed separation. Each subaccount has its own lists, inbox, phone number, and users managing it.
A keyword is a word people text to your church number to join a texting list and receive an auto-response (e.g. Text Join to 775-347-7333). Keywords can also trigger an automated workflow, which lets you schedule out a series of texts, add people to different lists, transfer people to other workflows or subaccounts, and more.
Messages can have a total length of 765 plain text characters. You'll be limited to fewer characters when using special characters or emojis.
A long code is a 10-digit, local phone number. Most churches use long codes. A short code is a 5-digit texting number. Short codes are easy to remember, and very fast, but they are much more expensive.
